There was a reconstruction of Lagos in the early 1970's. This period created the backbone for the present infrastructure. But that infrastructure was built for a much smaller population
Lagos is an industrial center and produces goods such as foods, beverages, paints, soaps, and textiles. It also has many service industries.
Manufacturing plants moved to Lagos, bringing vehicles and people. By 1965, 32% of Nigeria's total manufacturing plants were located in metropolitan Lagos.
Only 0.4% of city facilities have a toilet connected to a sewer system
